Cliffhanger

As the crowing project piece of Tremblant’s National Parc’s $4.5m improvement program the Via ferrata du diable opened in June 2008 and provides a thrilling walking and rock-climbing experience overlooking the Diable River Valley.

Budding adventurers from the age of just 7 can discover the vast territory of Quebecs largest National Parc from a completely new point-of-view – one of the parcs most spectacular cliff faces!

Accompanied by a guide, you have the opportunity to cross a series of passages and suspended bridges while admiring views of the meandering Diable River in the valley below. Once you have ascended 200m you'll be rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding mountains.

No rock climbing experience is necessary to experience the Via Ferrata and all required safety equipment is provided. For those seeking a more demanding climb an advanced route is also catered for. If an unforgettable experience is what you came for this might just hit the spot.

Nature's Playground

Whilst Mont-Tremblant may be known primarily for its world-class ski facilities, the area also offers an abundance of summer activities. During the spring and summer months, more than a dozen professional golf courses (5 championship rated) take advantage of the mountainous topography making the area a popular world-class golfing destination.

The proximity of Parc national du Mont-Tremblant ( Mont-Tremblant National Park) to the cabins (just 10 minutes away), puts a wide array of summer outdoor activities in easy reach. The park, which is Quebec's oldest and largest protected region, takes up an area of over 1500 km (932 mi) and is home to hundreds of lakes, mountainous terrain, hiking and biking trails, waterfalls, winding rivers and peaceful lakes. The area also provides natural habitat for various wildlife, such as black bears, wolves, moose, beavers, deer, foxes and bald eagles so grab your rucksack, camera and boots and go explore!

The park itself makes catching a glimpse of the wildlife that inhabit it and enjoying the many scenic vistas easy via the network of hiking and cycling paths, or by the canoe routes that wind their way through the lush forests of the area. There are a number of campsites in the park where hikers or paddlers can stop for the night, but most sites are basic so returning to the warmth and shelter of your log home seems a wiser choice to us.

A great way to appreciate the impressive surroundings of Mont-Tremblant is by riding the panoramic gondola up to the summit during the spring and summer. At the summit, an observation tower provides a breathtaking view of the Laurentian Mountains, nearby lakes and Mont-Tremblant Provincial Park.

For those adventurous souls and adrenalin junkies the summer activity menu at Mont-Tremblant is as varied as you could hope for, with everything from horseback riding, rock climbing, kayaking, white water rafting, swimming, waterskiing, sailing, wakeboarding, fly-fishing, airplane tours, ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) tours, alpine luge (which involves riding a non-motorised cart down a paved mountain trail) and guided cycling tours through to a day spent racing at Ferrari's only driving school outside of Italy!

Of course you may simply want to soak up the sun by our heated pool enjoying your favorite cocktail before retiring to your luxury cabin for a BBQ as you watch the sun set over the Mountains - life can be far too tough sometimes.

New Casino in Tremblant

The Casino de Mont Tremblant is all set to open its doors on June 24th 2009. Located in Versant Soleil, which is now connected to the busy pedestrian village in Tremblant by a new gondola there has been considerable anticipation of the Casino's opening.

The Casino is expected to be a major draw for the resort and will offer:-
  • 400 slot machines
  • 20 gaming tables with croupiers
  • 5 Texas Hold'em poker tables
The Casino will be open seven days a week - Sunday to Wednesday: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. and Thursday to Saturday: 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m.

Undoubtedly for some this may be seen as a mixed blessing. In a resort famed for its natural beauty, it seems a slightly incongruous to place to host a casino. Having said that, it is one of the many benefits of taking a vacation in Tremblant. The resort really does offer something for everyone. We look forward to hearing first hand reviews of the casino from our guests.
